In the Restore & Sustain Track, we want to take what God says in Genesis seriously. We believe that God has given us a beautiful responsibility - to steward his creation. Right in the beginning, when God created the human kind God said “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” With dominion comes responsibility, and we get to take part in together with the Lord who created it. What a privilege!

In this track we want to combine using our creativity, practical skills with sustainability. Taking what's old, things people normally would throw away - and make them into something new and beautiful. It’s like an image of what God does in us! He takes our broken lives, and transforms them. There is so much potential in items that normally just go in the bin. And we often forget to see the potential. We believe that together we can challenge our minds to look at what we have in front of us, in new ways. Expanding our minds and our creativity! And finally we want to bless people and organizations with our projects.

The vision for our track is taken out of the definition of the work STEWARDSHIP: Utilizing and managing all resources God provides for the glory of God and the betterment of His creation.

So how will we do this? If you join our track, we want you to be a part of forming it. Every few weeks we will introduce projects that we will work on together. Practically we will:

  • Refurbish furniture

  • Create home/business decor

  • Learn how to thrift well

  • Recreate different types of art

  • Work on opening our minds and use our creativity to see opportunities

  • Learn basic skills to do upcycling/DIY projects

  • Initiate teamwork by building on each other’s ideas

“Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.” 1. Thessalonians 4.11-12
